“On the
day the Lord gave the
Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed to the Lord in front
of all the people of Israel. He said, “Let the sun stand still over
Gibeon, and the moon over the valley of Aijalon.”
So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place
until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies.
Is this event not recorded in The Book of Jashar? The sun
stayed in the middle of the sky, and it did not set as on a normal day. There has never been a day like this one before or
since, when the Lord answered
such a prayer. Surely the Lord fought
for Israel that day!”
Joshua 10:12-14
Sometimes we do not pray for certain things because they seem to us something impossible to obtain,
but it is God who decides which prayers He will approve. Joshua was not afraid to cry out for
something that had never happened: the sun would not be hidden until they defeated the enemy.
Joshua was focused on the goal he had to reach, and he was sure that it was God's will for them that
they win the battle that day. Let's do like Joshua:
1.- Pray with faith: Joshua was sure that God was paying attention to his prayer, he also knew that God
could do anything.
2.- Do God´s will: ask God where he wants you to go, if you walk with Him, his help and protection will
never fail you.
Go on! Make an impossible prayer to the God for whom nothing is impossible.
