There is something called: freewill. That is the ability of agents to make choices free from certain kinds of constraints.
God is a gentleman; He will never try to make us do something against our will. But for those who don´t want to do the will of God has to be prepared for the consequences of their disobedience.
Adam and Eve received the advice of not eating from just one tree of many they had. But they decided to try from that specific tree and then they had to live under the discipline God applied to them.
Every time you want to do something ask yourself if that action will edify you and people around, ask yourself if that action will please God, will make Him smile, will glorify His Name.
